Complete all of the following steps for this lab.

1. Watch the tutorial movie on Audacity below then follow the directions below.

2. Record the following into Audacity (press the red circle to record)-
A. First do a low pitched hum for 5 seconds
B. Next, say, “The cat with the funky tale ran to the store.” Then press stop.
3. Find the frequency of your low pitched sound by going to Analyze–>Plot Spectrum. Write the frequency in your notebook
4. Next, highlight the part of the clip where you say “The cat with the funky tale ran to the store.”
5. Go to the Effect menu and select repeat. Set the clip to repeat 1 time.
6. Choose one of the clips and select just the part where you say “… with the funky tale.” Delete that part.

7. Go to File—>Save As and name the file as your first name. Save it to the desktop
8. Upload the file to my drop.io page CLICK HERE TO GET TO IT – use the password given out at the beginning of class.

9. Any extra time you have can be used to play around with Audacity. Record your voice and speed it up or slow it down. Analyze the frequency. Try some other effects. You do NOT need to upload this to the drop.io.
